JOSE MOURINHO slammed his Manchester United stars for playing “Playstation football” in the 3-0 win over Basel.
Goals from Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford made it a comfortable return to the Champions League for the Red Devils. But Mourinho was fuming with his side for taking their foot off the pedal when it reached 2-0.
And he made clear he does not expect a similar drop in concentration and intensity when they play CSKA Moscow in just over two weeks time.
Seething Mourinho said: “Three points are important at home. Until 2-0 we were very stable, we played with confidence.
“After 2-0 everything changed, we stopped playing seriously and stopped making right decisions.
“We could have put ourselves in trouble.
“We were playing fantasy football, Playstation football, tricks. "When you stop to play as a team and seriously, I don't like it and you gamble a little bit.
"Probably the players felt the game was under control but you have to respect opponents. We lost shape, too many balls in easy positions and the players relaxed too much and I didn't like it."
