MANCHESTER CITY have now made the BEST-EVER start to a Premier League season after ten games, following their weekend win over West Brom.
Pep Guardiola's men battled to a 3-2 win away to the Baggies on Saturday to extend their points total to 28... from an available 30.
In fact, this season, City have only dropped points in a surprise draw to struggling Everton in August - with Wayne Rooney snatching a point for the Toffees. Even then the Premier League table-toppers played over half the game with ten men after Kyle Walker's early sending-off. This term has seen Guardiola's men string together some simply ludicrous results, scoring five or more goals FOUR times already. A 5-0 home drubbing of Liverpool was immediately followed by a 6-0 win away to Watford... before a 5-0 win at home to Crystal Palace a week later. City also thumped Stoke 7-2 a fortnight ago, to go with their crucial 1-0 victory away to Chelsea last month. Through ten games, no Prem team has EVER tallied 28 points and boasted a goal difference as high as their ridiculous +29. Incredibly, City also hold the honour of the second-best start to a Premier League season too. In the 2011-12 campaign - which they went on to win on the final day - the Etihad side once again amassed 28 points out of 30.
However, despite scoring one more goal, with 36, they conceded two more, making their goal difference one shy of the 2017-18 total on +28.
Chelsea own the third-best record in Premier League history after their 2005-06 heroics.
That year, the Blues also racked up 28 points, but could only muster a goal difference of +20, despite their stringent defence only allowed four goals.
