Real Madrid 5 Sevilla 0: Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates fifth Ballon d’Or win with two goals

RED HOT Real Madrid showed no signs of their early season struggles after blowing Sevilla away with a sensational first half display.
On a day when Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with his fifth Ballon d’Or, Zinedine Zidane’s side scored just as many in the first 45 minutes with the Portuguese star in unstoppable form.

Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with his fifth Ballon d’Or before the match

It was Nacho who set the home side on their way after two minutes when he pounced on a lose ball after Sevilla failed to deal with an early corner.
Then it was Ronaldo’s turn to celebrate when Marco Asensio played the forward through on goal and he made no mistake to score just his third league goal of the season.
On 31 minutes it was game over when Ronaldo doubled his La Liga tally for the season from the spot.
Sevilla, who went into the game level on points with Real in fifth, rolled over and let the European champions put them to the sword. Midfielder Toni Kroos then got in on the action after Ronaldo won the ball back in his own half.
The Germany international drove at the Sevilla defence, played a neat one-two with Lucas Vazquez before slotting it past the hapless Sergio Rico.
Zidane’s side were in frightening form and there was no surprise to see the net ripple again just minutes before half time. Striker Karim Benzema sprayed the ball out to the right into the path of the onrushing Achraf Hakimi and the 19-year-old slotted it home for his first goal for the club. Both sides failed to get out of second gear in the second period and it appeared they were content for the scoreline to remain at five.
Benzema nearly had one for himself but his header from Marcelo’s cross cannoned back off the woodwork.
