MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho is ready to step up his pursuit of Tottenham star Danny Rose in January.
The England left-back has been tracked by United over the last few seasons and is understood to be interested in a move away.
And the Red Devils are hoping to lure the 27-year-old to Old Trafford, to improve their Premier League title chances.
However, Tottenham chief Daniel Levy is adamant he will not sell to United, and improve one of their rival's squads.
Rose is also being looked at by a number of clubs across Europe including Real Madrid, Juventus and French giants PSG. A source said: “It is not secret that Jose likes Rose. He is looking to make a move for him in January when the window opens.
“He could prove difficult to get though as Tottenham do not like dealing with United. It all depends on money at the end of the day.”
Reports have also suggested a possible swap deal could be on the cards involving Rose and United full-back Luke Shaw.
The 22-year-old has struggled to break into Mourinho's team, and could quit Old Trafford when the window opens.
