Tottenham will always be ‘scared’ until they win a trophy - Arsene Wenger

ARSENE WENGER says Tottenham will always be gripped by fear — until they win a trophy under Mauricio Pochettino. And the pot-laden Arsenal boss has NEVER been worried by his bitter North London rivals. Ahead of tomorrow’s derby, Wenger said: “You have to fight a little bit against your inhibitions — the fear that you won’t get over the line.
“Basically you need to focus on what is important and not focus on the trophy too much.
“You have to keep your nerves and get the players to focus on what is important.
"You always have anxiety. It is always difficult to finish a job.
Mauricio Pochettino knows Spurs have gone nine years without winning a cup
“It is up to us to get over the line and win trophies and it is not easy.”
Wenger won his first league championship with Monaco in 1988 and has since gone on to lift three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups at Arsenal. Poch has yet to break his duck with Spurs, who have won nothing since the League Cup in 2008. Wenger added: “I was always more focused on finishing in the Champions League than Tottenham.
“When we had less financially we needed the money to pay for the stadium, so I was more focused on that than Tottenham. I was never too focused on Tottenham.” Poch said of Wenger: “I need to be honest and fair, he is my enemy because he is Arsenal manager but he is my colleague too.
“What he is doing as a manager, I would like to be like him one day — 20 years at Tottenham.”
