Borussia Dortmund Sack coach Peter Bosz

PETER BOSZ has been sacked by Borussia Dortmund.
Bosz has paid the price for a woeful season in the Bundesliga and Europe and the German club have confirmed his axing at a press conference today.
Peter Bosz has been sacked after just six months in charge at Borussia Dortmund
Saturday’s 1-1 draw at ten-man Bayer Leverkusen was the final straw and the Dutchman was told he was no longer wanted.
And Dortmund have made the surprise choice of turning to ex-Cologne boss Peter Sober to help revive their fortunes.
Sober was dumped by Cologne earlier this season with the side languishing down near the foot of the table.
Buty he has be given a contract until the end of the season with the option of a longer deal should he prove a success over the next six months. Sporting director Hans-Joachim Watzke said: “Last night in a conversation with Peter Bosz we decided that we would release him with immediate effect, it was very emotional, but also stylish.
“We parted on the best of terms and on behalf of all Borussia I would like to thank Peter Bosz, we still consider him a great coach and people.” Dortmund only appointed Bosz as the new boss last summer after forking out £4million compensation to Ajax.
His work leading the Dutch club to the Europa League final season had caught the eye and Dortmund hoped he would help them challenge for the title this season.
But the side has been inconsistent in the league throughout the campaign, losing five games, and they are now 15 points off top spot.
Displays in Europe were even worse, as they failed to win a match in the group stages of the Champions League where they came up against Tottenham, Real Madrid and Apoel Nicosia.
The club have now dropped down into the Europa League – a major disappointment for a club who had hoped to go deep in the Champions League.
