I can’t rely on Vincent Kompany - Pep Guardiola

MANCHESTER CITY boss Pep Guardiola has sensationally revealed that he ‘cannot rely’ on club captain Vincent Kompany.
The Citizens centre-back had to be substituted before the start of the second half, with the 31-year-old picking up yet another injury.
Pep Guardiola has revealed that Manchester City will be without Vincent Kompany for a lengthy period of time
It comes as just the latest setback for the Belgian international who has been plagued by injuries in recent years.
Speaking to Sky Sports following City’s 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford, the former Barcelona boss revealed they will be without the Belgian international for a lengthy period of time.
He said: “Kompany is injured. We wait and see.
“Vinny is always like this – unfortunately we can’t count on him for a long time.” The ex-Hamburg ace was replaced by central midfielder Ilkay Gundogan as the sides made their way out the tunnel for the second period.
City are now facing a mini-defensive crisis, with John Stones already out of action, while left-back Benjamin Mendy is likely to miss the remainder of the season. That would leave in-form Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala as the only two fit centre-back’s at the Etihad.
City didn’t miss Kompany going into the final 45 minutes though, as they edged out their rivals to move 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League. David Silva and Otamendi got on the score sheet for the away side, as they made it 14 consecutive wins in the top-flight.
