West Brom defender Jonny Evans tops Sam Allardyce’s Everton transfer wishlist

SAM ALLARDYCE wants to sign Jonny Evans as part of a January splurge to energise Everton.
New Toffees manager Allardyce will target players with Premier League experience when the winter window opens.
Jonny Evans is top of Sam Allardyce's shopping list
And he has his eye on West Brom centre-back Evans in a £30million deal — after a move to Manchester City collapsed in the summer.
But Northern Ireland international Evans, 29, has also been linked with Arsenal.
Crystal Palace left-back Patrick van Aanholt is on Allardyce’s  hit-list after working with him at Sunderland and escaping relegation.
And Everton, despite signing Wayne Rooney, are desperate for a striker following their failure to replace Romelu Lukaku’s goals. The Merseyside club could go back for Troy Deeney after considering a move for the Watford forward this summer.
Everton’s director of football Steve Walsh has been keen on Deeney for some time. Everton’s former boss Ronald Koeman revealed he has been offered two Premier League jobs since being axed in October.
Koeman claims he was sounded out over a quick return but refused to name who  had approached him.
West Ham and West Brom have both changed managers since Koeman was sacked. The former Holland and Barcelona star said: “My dismissal at Everton felt like a bruise — and for that reason I didn’t react to other offers.
“Two were from clubs in the Premier League, plus possibilities in Europe.
“But the last six years have had an effect on my family.”
