Joe Hart’s West Ham and England places under threat as David Moyes warns goalkeeper his performances

DAVID MOYES has warned Joe Hart he could lose his place in the team — for club AND country.
The England goalkeeper is under intense scrutiny after a series of mistakes for West Ham.
Joe Hart faces the axe for both West Ham and England
Spaniard Adrian will be between the posts for the Hammers at Manchester City today, with on-loan Hart unable to play against his parent club.
Hart, 30, takes his seat in the stands after another poor performance in the midweek 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Everton.
His careless clearance enabled Wayne Rooney to complete his hat-trick with a 58-yard wonder goal — and Moyes believes a prolonged run of bad form would see him sidelined by the Hammers and England.
Irons boss Moyes said: “I was disappointed with his kicking at Everton — and I told him it was poor. He should either be putting the ball into the stand or somewhere else. “It has been mixed with Joe. I’ve seen some good stuff and I’ve seen stuff which hasn’t been so good. I couldn’t say all of it has been great but I think Joe would be the first one to admit that as well.”
Moyes’ blast follows Pep Guardiola’s stinging criticism of Hart’s use of the ball, which saw him bombed out at the Etihad at the start of last season. Hart has been exposed by poor West Ham defending yet Moyes does not see that as a valid excuse. He said: “I had Jordan Pickford at Sunderland last year and he saved us a lot of goals.”
If Adrian, 30, impresses today — or against Arsenal in the League Cup on December 19 — Moyes admits he will have no qualms giving him the nod ahead of Hart. He said: “If you get the jersey, you’ve got a chance. You give me something to make a decision on — that’s what I want to happen with all the players.
“We’ve tried to be stable in our choices but if there’s something so obviously bad we’ll change it.
“And if someone comes in, they have to show me they are good enough to play. Adrian will get that chance.”
Although Moyes — who has seen his team lose 2-0 at Watford, draw 1-1 at home to Leicester and get hammered at Everton — joked: “Some games I feel as if we’ve needed two keepers in goal!” When asked whether Hart’s England spot will be in jeopardy if he is dropped by West Ham, Moyes admitted: “I’m sure Joe knows that if he’s performing well here it is really important for him.
“He’s done well in some of the games and we need him for his leadership, his organisation. He’s a man for us in the dressing room. Those things are also important.
“He’s someone who is out there trying to help the team. But, let’s be honest, he’s going to get plenty of work here at the moment. He’s getting that just now and might be under pressure.”
Moyes says there is no chance he will be selling Adrian in January.
He said: “I’ve only just come in but I’d be saying there’s no chance he can go because we need two top goalkeepers.” Moyes believes City are not too far away from being as good as the team Guardiola had at Bayern Munich, which the Scot rates as the best side he has faced as a manager.
He was in charge of Manchester United when they were beaten by Guardiola’s Germans in the Champions League quarter-finals in 2014.
Moyes said: “Over the years I’ve faced some really good club sides. Arsenal was really difficult, Liverpool, when they had Gerrard and Torres, were a really good team, and Manchester United with Scholes.
“My first coming together with Pep at that level was in the Champions League. Bayern were very good and City are close to that team. They have something going.”
