ADAM LALLANA will be out for the next two months after picking up a thigh injury against Atletico Madrid.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed the England star would likely be out for “a couple of months, not weeks”. Klopp told the told Liverpool website: “This is certainly not news we would have wanted.
“Unfortunately, the damage is such that it will likely mean Adam is out for a couple of months not weeks, so I think we can pretty much rule him out of August and September.
“Beyond that we will monitor and wait and see.
“He is a boy with a world-class attitude to everything professionally and he has always come back in good time from injury setbacks since I have been here, so we will see.”
Lallana was one of Liverpool’s top performers last season, scoring eight goals in 31 Premier League matches as the Reds qualified for the Champions League.
If the injury is bad as currently feared, Lallana will miss the two-leg Champions League play-off with Hoffenheim.
