MANCHESTER UNITED look set to lose out in their pursuit of Ivan Perisic.
Inter Milan have offered the Croatia winger a new contract – and issued a hands-off warning to the Old Trafford giants. Jose Mourinho targeted Perisic, 28, at the start of the summer with the two clubs playing hardball over a fee since.
Inter’s sporting director insists that neither Perisic or Antonio Candreva – wanted by Chelsea – are for sale.
Piero Ausilio said: “I don’t understand where some of these stories come from.
“(Antonio) Candreva has never been on the market and we have absolutely no intention of selling him.
“The same goes for Perisic, who is an important player and we are currently discussing a new contract with him.”
Mourinho appeared to have been given hope of landing Perisic last week. The Manchester United boss had been trying to thrash out a £45million deal.
