Liverpool scouts for Coutinho replacement

LIVERPOOL sent scouts to watch Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic, according to reports.
The Reds have been linked with a move for the American whizkid if Philippe Coutinho jumps ship to Barcelona in a mega-money deal. And now reports suggest representatives of the Merseyside club were in attendance as the winger netted in Dortmund’s penalty loss to Bayern Munich. Jurgen Klopp is pulling out all the stops to try and keep Coutinho at Anfield despite Barca being ready to splash out £80million on him.
Klopp thinks Borussia Dortmund forward Pulisic, 18, will be a global star.
However, the German side are keen to rebuff his bid for their America international.
But Liverpool could try again with a bid of more than £30million for Pulisic if they lose Coutinho and need a creator for the new season.
Klopp has been forced to turn his attentions elsewhere having failed to land RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita. The Reds were hoping to break a club-record to land the Guinea international in a £70million deal.
But the Bundesliga are standing firm in their stance of not cashing in on the midfield enforcer.
Mohamed Salah has joined from Roma in a £36.9million move from Roma.
But Klopp has found it difficult to bring in any more new recruits so far.
And keeping Coutinho is now the biggest problem for the Reds as Barca get ready to splash the £198million they got for Neymar.
