I take full responsibility after West Ham's home defeat - Slaven Bilic

Slaven Bilic remains confident he’s the right man for West Ham but admitted the embarrassing home defeat to Brighton was his responsibility. 

Brighton picked up their first Premier League away win with a 3-0 victory at West Ham on Friday Night Football, which turned up the heat on boss Bilic.

A double from Glenn Murray and a fine José Izquierdo effort mean the Hammers have made their worst start to season since 2010, taking just eight points from nine games. "It was a bad performance," Bilic said.

"The goals killed us, the first one very quick. Between the first and second goal we were dominating the game. "They defended the box really good and at the end of the first half we conceded from a bit of skill from their player. It is very hard for me to say anything clever in this moment apart from it's very disappointing.

"As manager I take full responsibility."

Ahead of the game, West Ham co-owner David Sullvian backed Bilic, admitting he felt it was "morally wrong" to sack managers and wants to give Bilic the opportunity to see out his three-year contract, which expires at the end of the season. When asked if he was confident he'll be given the opportunity to turn West Ham's form around, he said: "The board will do what they are going to do.

"It is their decision. We have been in this situation before and we got out. As a manager you take the credit and as a manager you take the full responsibility. I don't want to hide.

"I'm not worried [about the sack]. I'm doing my best."
