GOALS from Luis Suarez and Paulinho moved Barcelona seven points clear at the top of La Liga after beating Leganes 3-0.
The striker netted a brace at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque, as Paulinho completed the scoring late on as Barca maintained their unbeaten start to the season.
Things almost got off to the worst possible start for Barca when Suarez went down in the seventh minute holding his rught knee.
But the Uruguayan international soldiered on, and fired the La Liga table-toppers ahead in the 28th minute.
The 30-year-old lashed home from a couple of yards out after goalkeeper Ivan Cueller parried Paca Alcacer's cross-shot into the path of the ex-Liverpool star.
Just seven minutes later the home side should have been back on level terms, but Alexander Szymanowsk's strike was well saved by Marc-Andre ter Stegen. And moments after the break, they again should have equalised, but were foiled once more by the German international.
Winger Nordin Amrabat - on loan from Watford - played a beautiful ball into the path of substitute Claudio Beauvue, but his low attempt was straight at ter Stegen.
Leganes were made to rue their missed opportunities when Suarez doubled his tally for the afternoon, acrobatically dispatching past Cuellar.
The Spanish shot-stopper again parried from an Alcacer attempt, with Suarez making no mistake in the 60th minute. Aleix Vidal then was left with his head in his hands after he failed to hit the target from ten yards out.
Suarez was denied a hat-trick thanks to a goal-line clearance, but the substitute sliced the rebound as it whistle just wide of the right-hand post.
And the visitors somehow managed to miss when Cuellar parried a Lionel Messi shot, only for the goalkeeper to thwart Suarez on the rebound.
But moments later, Paulinho stabbed the ball home in the 89th minute after Messi refused to give the ball up on the byline.
