Juventus 0, Inter Milan 0: Mario Mandzukic should have scored

JUVENTUS and Serie A leaders Inter Milan fought out a frustrating goalless draw in Turin.
Mario Mandzukic came the closest to breaking the deadlock with a header that crashed off the crossbar.

Juventus’ Juan Cuadrado in action with Inter’s Ivan Perisic

The first half could be summed up by the fact that it was the first time since the May 2014 derby game that Inter failed to have a shot in the opening 45 minutes.
They played pretty well, claiming 56 per cent of possession. But just before the break Juventus hit the wodwork.
Mattia de Sciglio made agreat run down the right and from his cross Mario Mandzukic’s header thudded against the crossbar. There were plenty of bookings: Juventus defender Medhi Benati and striker Gonzalo Higuain, along with Inter midfielders Marcelo Brozovic and Matias Vecino, winger Ivan Perisic and defenders Davide Santo and  Danilo D’Ambrosio. In the second half Perisic saw a shot blocked and Marcelo Brozovic’s follow-up was way over as Inter enjoyed a rare moment of attacking intent.
For Juve the busy Perisic got a head to deny Juan Cuadrado on the hour, while Sami Khedira shot across goal and wide with the keeper beaten eight minutes later.
Then Kwadwo Asamoah drove from 20 yards and Samir Handanovic saved before Higuain wasted a golden opportunity by firing over.
